Our strategy 2012-2016.

Involving beneficiaries, supporters and people using services

Terrence Higgins Trust is an organisation that is rooted in and driven by the communities we serve. Thousands of you are our members, sharing your experiences and helping us to tackle HIV and poor sexual health.

  • Terrence Higgins Trust had more than 8,000 members during 2010/2011, four times as many as in the previous year.
  • More than 1,000 of you are members who live with HIV.
  • 10,000 of you make vital regular donations to Terrence Higgins Trust.
  • 400 of you work with us as staff.
  • More than 1000 of you work with us as volunteers, giving us your time and energy to help us carry out our vital work.

Of the people who work with us, more than half are drawn from the communities we serve. Around 10% of our employees are people living with HIV, 25% are from black or minority ethnic communities and 23% are gay men.

Our Board of Trustees and Executive Team also involves people from the communities we serve. The board is responsible for setting the charity’s overall strategy and direction, and for ensuring we use our resources effectively.
