Could you provide one-to-one support for someone living with HIV?
We have various projects that rely on volunteer mentors who work to empower service users by helping with personal or professional goal setting, action planning, building confidence and reducing isolation.
Volunteers mentor provide one-to-one support to ensure individuals make positive and lasting changes in their lives.
Being a Mentor is a great way to share the skills you have with someone else and also learn new things yourself along the way. I've met some great people as a result: fellow volunteers, Work Positive participants and THT staff.
The scheme provides a lot of support for volunteers throughout. The Work Positive model is very effective in enabling people to return to employment, and this makes it really rewarding to play a part in the process through volunteering.
