`I currently volunteer with the Positive Balance Team in Lighthouse South, Waterloo.'

I have volunteered for THT since Sept 2014 but had started with a different programme. I moved to Waterloo in November. I decided I wanted to volunteer for The Terrence Higgins Trust as I was interested in working with young people and particularly around the subject of safe sex.

My volunteering has taken a different path but equally interesting. I hoped that I would gain confidence and skills to feel I was ready to apply for paid work. Volunteering for the THT has also meant that I felt comfortable in a working environment.

I have met fantastic people each with their own stories via the Work Positive Programme. We are all aware of the difficulties faced by those of us who understand stigma and discrimination. Support has been key throughout this process.
