`I volunteer within the SWISH project as a Drug & Alcohol Liaison Worker.'

I have been volunteering for SWISH for 6 months. After a carer as a Drug and Alcohol Practitioner within London I decided after being made redundant in November 2013 that I needed to volunteer to keep my skills up to date.

After almost a year out of work the best part of volunteering was how welcoming, and supportive Del, Lee, Michelle, Max, Shani Steven, and Nathan were. I had never worked with Sex Workers and the whole SWISH team really took the time to understand my experience of Drug and Alcohol addiction, and helped me understand some of the issues facing the client group.

Since working at SWISH I have supported staff to build links with local services as well as Key Work 26 clients.
