`I volunteer in Soho, London, doing outreach work. We try to promote safe sex by distributing condoms, but also increase awareness of HIV and encourage people to get tested.'

I used to volunteer in Coventry for the Sex Workers Into Sexual Health Scheme, but when I moved to London about a year ago, I joined the outreach group at Terrence Higgins Trust.

I used to research HIV in the lab, so it’s something I’m really passionate about. Education is also key to tackling HIV, so raising awareness through projects like community outreach is really important, and the more people getting involved the better!

Being able to share the knowledge I have to help others, and knowing that the work we are doing is making a difference, is the best part of being a volunteer for Terrence Higgins Trust.
