I am an online peer support volunteer on the myHIV community forums.
I volunteer as part of the Work Positive Programme, to gain up to date work experience.
I volunteer on three separate projects: Soho Outreach, Health, Wealth and Happiness and SNAP.
I volunteer on THT Direct. Terrence Higgins Trust’s national HIV and sexual health helpline, as a helpline advisor.
I currently volunteer on the THT Direct helpline, based in King’s Cross. I do one shift per week, answering a wide range of calls from people with issues regarding HIV.
`I volunteer on the THT Direct helpline which is based and run from THT London office on Grays Inn Road.'
I volunteer for THT's Work Positive Scheme, as a mentor for someone living with HIV who is long-term unemployed, and looking to get back into work.
`From personal experience I know how difficult it is to get back on track work wise and personally.'
`I really like the fact that you can be “yourself” at work, there is no pretence or hiding that you have HIV, and you can talk openly about it.'
`I volunteered for the back to work mentoring scheme based at the King’s Cross offices. My role is to mentor someone on the Work Positive Programme, meeting up with them every two weeks offering advice and help on how to get back into the workplace.'
