THT can provide general information on the immigration & asylum systems, as well as travelling whilst living with HIV. If you need advice on immigration we can also help you to find an adviser.

Subjects that we can help you with include:

• help with expenses and housing
• medical treatment
• international travel whilst living with HIV

Leave to stay in the UK

Do you want to know whether you can make an application to get leave or extend your leave to remain in the UK? If so, we can help you to find out:

• what application or applications may be relevant to your particular circumstances
• what conditions you will have to satisfy.

If necessary, we will then refer you to an immigration specialist in your area, or help you to find one.

Help with expenses and housing

Do you want to know whether you can get help with your daily living expenses and/or housing while you are waiting for a Home Office decision? If so, we can talk to you about:

• what help, or assistance, may be available to you
• the conditions you will have to meet in order to get these
• the problems you may encounter if you make a claim for help to which you are not entitled.

If you do qualify for assistance, we will tell you which agency to contact and how to find them.

Medical treatment

Are you from abroad, and wish to know whether you are entitled to free treatment under the National Health Service? If so, we can help you to find out whether you qualify for free treatment.

Travel

Some countries have restrictions upon their entry requirements that could affect you if you're living with HIV. We're campaigning to change that and can help advise you if you're hoping to travel to one of those countries.
