What happens when I write?

When you send us a letter we will try to respond to it within two working days. If you have a question which might be urgent – say you need to access PEP, EHC or if you need urgent advice on an issue such as housing, then we'd recommend you phone for a quicker response.

In some cases, sending a letter might be more appropriate than calling the helpline, such as if you are a student researching a project. In some cases you might prefer not to have to call the helpline – perhaps because you don’t want to be overheard, or you are embarrassed to talk about sex. Or you could write to us and give us a telephone number so that we can call you. Whatever your reason, writing a letter is another way to access THT Direct.

When we write back to you we will send our letter in a plain envelope, so it won’t be obvious that the letter is from THT. We won’t use your contact details for anything else unless you ask us to. We can also send you up to three of our publications free of charge.
