World AIDS Day Events

Saturday 29th November

Red Ribbon Road Trip 2008
THT staff and volunteers will travel across Essex in the Big Red World Aids Day red ribbon bus to raise awareness and give out information and advice about HIV and sexual health. The bus will stop in key locations across Essex with staff giving out red ribbons, condoms, balloons, and leaflets. The team will also be offering free and confidential chlamydia testing.  The bus will start in Colchester at around 9am and then travel to Braintree, Chelmsford, Basildon Southend, and Thurrock.

Street Collections in Braintree, Freeport and Colchester High Street
Staff and volunteers from THT will be raising awareness of HIV, giving out red ribbons and asking for donations.

Sunday 30th November

World Aids Day service, Gates of Praise, Grays, Thurrock from 10am - 1pm
This service gives local people the opportunity to support the cause and remember those affected by HIV and AIDS. The service will include talks from guest speakers, and will feature music, as well as a performance drama highlighting the stigma experienced by people living with HIV. After the service a free buffet and refreshments will be served.

Monday 1st December
