Grampian

We run over a dozen services in the Grampian area from our centre in Aberdeen and from THT Direct.

HIV Support Services

Community Support is an integral part of the work in the Grampian centre. The community support volunteers help to support people living with HIV in the region.

Positive Mixture is a group for HIV positive people of all ages, genders and backgrounds, they meet up fortnightly to discuss issues and socialise with other positive people in the Grampian Region.

LGBT Youth Groups

Zone Youth is a group for LGBT young people under the age of 26 to meet up and socialise with each other within Aberdeen City. We meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month and have taken part in activities such as Paint Balling, Bowling, Go Karting as well as educational days for LGBT History Month, Alcohol Awareness Week and more.

Big Deal,  the LGBT Youth Group for Moray is currently consulting on the best way to run a group in the area, please take part in our survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/bigdeal to give us an idea on what you want.

SAFER SEX

Safer Houses Scheme

The safer houses scheme ensures that all gay/gay friendly venues in Grampian have condoms & lube available.  Current Venues within Aberdeen are:

  • Cheerz Bar & Club – Exchange Street 
  • The Market Arms – Hadden Street 
  • MY Club – Adelphi Lane
  • Wellmans Health Suite (Sauna) – Holburn Street 
  • Get Rubbered – Condoms by Post Scheme – www.getrubbered.com
  • Outreach in cruising grounds – Duthie Park & Parkhill Forest

As well as the above anyone can drop into our centre at 246 George Street to pick up condoms and lube.

Training and awareness raising

We can provide training on sexual health and LGBT issues to any organisation.  The training can be tailored to your needs.  For more information on training contact Alan Parker on 0845 241 2151 or email alan.parker@tht.org.uk

Third Party Reporting

We can also report homophobic/transphobic crimes to Grampian Police as part of the third-party reporting scheme. You can confidentially report a crime by emailing confidential.aberdeen@tht.org.uk or by calling 0845 241 2151. All calls and emails are treated in strict confidence and details will only be passed to Grampian Police with your full consent.
