If I just ignore a sexually transmitted infection will it disappear? | ![]() |
Sexually Transmitted Infections don’t just go away by themselves, the longer you leave them the more serious they’re likely to get. You may not have any symptoms but if you suspect you have put yourself at risk of contracting an STI go and get it checked out. Most infections are easily sorted as long as they are treated as soon as possible.
Can I catch HIV through kissing? | ![]() |
No, absolutely not. Saliva does not contain enough of the HIV virus to pass from one person to another. The most common ways that HIV is passed on is through unprotected sex; blood to blood – people sharing injecting equipment; and mother to baby – this can happen during pregnancy, birth or from breastfeeding. Unprotected oral sex carries a smaller risk. For more information call THT Direct on 0845 12 21 200
