Many of you would have already been contacted by the respective Participation Officer in your region and will be familiar with the Young Leaders Project.

We are aware of the governments aim to enable young people to reach their potential as a result of participation through extra curricular activities focusing on the five key outcomes of every child matters.

We wish to continue building and developing the partnerships we have in each region.  This will include us supporting you to achieve your Best Value Performance Indicators 221a and 221b relating to recorded and accredited outcomes.

We have employed a dedicated Learning & Accreditation Officer who will be available to support you to maximise the benefits of working in partnership with or supporting the Young Leaders Project.

THT and me.

Alan Palmer

Name: Alan Palmer

Role: Young leaders volunteer

What does that mean?: Young Leaders is a peer-led sex and relationships education (SRE) project. We support and train young people (13-19 years old) to enable them to fulfil their role on the South West Young Leaders Board.

This Board assesses applications from other young people to run SRE projects in their area, through a school, youth service, or other means. Young people know what they need to know about sex and relationships, and this project helps them achieve that.

Why THT?: I share many values, goals and ambitions with THT so it seemed obvious to volunteer for them. I have always volunteered and know that you can achieve much personally through the experience.

With THT I am also able to make a difference in areas I think are hugely important. With knowledge and information, people then have the power to make their own choices, and THT helps them to do just that.
