Donate in memoriamWe understand that, for some individuals, the need to remember someone in a long-lasting way is important. One way to remember a loved one is by leaving a gift in memory to a charity. | ![]() |
Losing someone close to you is one of the hardest things anyone ever has to face. When Terry Higgins died of AIDS in 1982 his friends set up Terrence Higgins Trust as a tribute to his life and to prevent others from suffering as he did.
Today, many people choose to remember a loved one they have lost by making a gift to Terrence Higgins Trust. This is sometimes in the form of a funeral collection in lieu of flowers or on a special anniversary or birthday.
Because of the special nature of these gifts in memory we have set up something new called Red Ribbon Funds; named tribute funds which enable you to you to celebrate the life of your loved one in a special, lasting way whilst helping us provide support to the thousands of people living with and affected by HIV. Everyone making a donation in memory is offered the opportunity to set up their own Fund whatever the size of their gift.
You can now create an online version of your Red Ribbon Fund; a web page where you can post photos and messages aswell as invite others to contribute to the Fund. It can be a lovely place for people to come together and share special memories. We will give you special access to your web page and you can choose whether or not you’d like your Fund viewable to the public as well.

`I miss Steve so much - it helps to know that by giving monthly to his Red Ribbon Fund I’m giving to a cause he truly believed in and helping other people.'
