Every 77 minutes, somebody in the UK is diagnosed with HIV. Find out how you can help Terrence Higgins Trust to be there for them.

Fundraising at college and university

Holding a fundraising event at your college or university is an excellent way to support THT and get pupils and staff talking about HIV and AIDS.

Students race snails to raise funds for THT

If you want to get people talking about sex, what better place to start than their knickers!

It’s a familiar scene; the flirting has paid off, things are heating up and they both know where this is headed! Suddenly their minds are full of questions: am I wearing my best undies, who’s going to make the first move, what’s my best angle?

But haven’t they forgotten something? Oh yeah, lights on or off?!

FACT

In 2008 16-24 year olds made up 12% of the population but accounted for nearly 50% of all STIs diagnosed in UK clinics.*

FACT

Over a third of young people admit they don’t always bother to use a condom with a new sexual partner.**

FACT

Someone is newly diagnosed with HIV in the UK every 70 minutes. That’s nearly 8,000 people a year. And there’s no cure for HIV.

Have these scary facts got your knickers in a twist? You can do something about it!

Hold a Knickers In A Twist event on World AIDS Day, 1st December, and get people really thinking about their sexual health – while they’re having fun and raising vital funds for Terrence Higgins Trust, of course.

Empowering young people to embrace their sexual destiny and make safer choices - now that’s damn sexy!

We can help out with some fun party, competition and drinks ideas and provide you with THT goodies such as red ribbons, condoms and balloons.

By holding a Knickers In A Twist party you will be helping THT to continue providing its vital services such as Fastest, Sex Facts and the THT Direct helpline.

You can sign up for an event and order your fundraising materials here. Or simply get in touch with me, Becky.

Your chance to star in a THT Production

After the event don’t forget to send us your photos! We are always looking for photos and stories to include in our annual newsletter and on our website. So if you’ve done something worth shouting about make sure you send us all the details too.
