Maggi Hambling and IAP Fine ArtOne of our foremost artists and a gallery have joined together to help raise funds for the fight against AIDS. | ![]() |
Maggi Hambling is one of Britain's best-known artists. Her work is represented in various public collections including the Tate, the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery. Her sculpture ‘Scallop (for Benjamin Britten)’ on Aldeburgh beach in Suffolk has aroused both praise and controversy nationwide. She is also a long-term supporter of the work of Terrence Higgins Trust.

In 1998 Maggi created her striking portrait of Derek Jarman, the film-maker and artist who died with AIDS in 1994, in an edition of 250. In 2006 she has produced two stunning new silk-screen prints, each in an edition of 100: one of musician, artist and THT supporter George Melly, capturing the amazing energy of this larger-than-life entertainer; the other of all-round superstar and Friend For Life-in-chief Stephen Fry.
Thanks to the marvellous generosity of Maggi and IAP Fine Art, Terrence Higgins Trust will receive £75 for each print sold.
