Every 70 minutes, somebody in the UK is diagnosed with HIV. Find out how you can help Terrence Higgins Trust to be there for them.

Employee fundraising

Fundraising events at work are a great way of meeting new people, as well as raising money for THT. A Charity of the Year scheme can make fundraising even more successful.

Accenture staff volunteers

At the end of a long day at work, a fundraising night is a fantastic way to let off steam and stun colleagues by revealing unknown skills or unpleasant habits.

Give us some ideas

You could have a stab at Karaoke and discover the secret Sinatras and backstage Britneys.

Find out who’s the brainiest with a pub quiz at your local watering hole. We can even send you a quiz pack to get you started. Get the boss to help out by putting up a prize or buying a round of drinks.

Everyone likes a raffle – they certainly do at Barclays’ Contact Centre in Sunderland, where they raised over £750 for our work back in November. But if you fancy something a little more strenuous, how about a Dragon Boat Race? Our friends at Pfizer did, and raised a fabulous £2,000 in the process.

If you want to keep it simple, go for a Dress Down Day (or a Dress Up Day if that appeals more) or a cake sale – they never fail. Or sponsor a colleague to give up tea and coffee for a month. Yes, it sounds like torture – but no pain, no gain!

Volunteering

Perhaps you could try your hand at volunteering, like the team of 30 Goldman Sachs employees who join us at Lighthouse West London every year. They help us to maintain the centre by performing tasks such as tending the garden and painting the children's crèche. Employees from Viacom have also supported us in this way, helping to revamp our gardens, corridors and therapy rooms.

On 4 November 2005, a team of 15 volunteers from Accenture spent the day painting at THT's new building in central London.  They were given the challenge of painting the underground carpark, which they took on with amazing energy and enthusiasm!  Within just one day, they transformed the dingy and dark carpark into a bright, clean area, enabling THT to rent some of the parking spaces to generate additional funds for the charity.  Matt Knight, THT's National Estates Manager, said "The results are fantastic and we'd be delighted to welcome the team back at any time".

Charity of the Year

If your company operates a Charity of the Year scheme, why not think about nominating THT this year? Our professional, dedicated corporate fundraising team will be happy to help you to have some real fun with your fundraising!
