Every 70 minutes, somebody in the UK is diagnosed with HIV. Find out how you can help Terrence Higgins Trust to be there for them.

Trusts and foundations

Support from trusts and foundations is vital in helping us to provide services to people affected by HIV, and to promote good sexual health in the UK.

BBC Children in Need

In May 2006 BBC Children in Need agreed a three-year grant of £39,000 to fund our Young People’s Counselling Service in London. The grant funds a specialist counsellor, working from a number of venues across the capital in order to maximise access, offering counselling around sexual health, relationships, sexuality and related issues.

It can be very difficult for young people to talk about problems associated with sex, sexual health or sexuality. Without support some young people may feel isolated or depressed, or pressured into taking risks with their sexual health.

This funding will allow us to offer specialist help to those in need and expand our service, particularly for teenagers, and we are delighted that BBC Children in Need have made this three-year commitment.
