Professional mentors for staff of African community organisations

London

The Organisational Development Programme for African Community Organisations is a new programme at Terrence Higgins Trust and will be delivering support to small community organisations that are working to address sexual health in London’s African communities. Support will be delivered through a number of group and one-to-one methods, including mentoring, consulting services, and group training.

Professional mentors will be responsible for delivering at least 1 half-day mentoring session (3.5 hours) per month, including peer support and guidance in specific areas of professional expertise. Required areas of expertise include management, fundraising, monitoring and evaluation, policy development, accounting and financial transparency, advocacy, strategic planning, governance, and partnership development. In addition to technical expertise, experience in management or training delivery would also be beneficial.

Each individual applicant may potentially mentor up to four different individuals (totalling 4 half days or 14 hours per month), dependent upon the expertise of the mentor and the needs of partner organisations. This is an exciting opportunity to pass on much needed skills to organisations delivering a critical service to London’s African communities. Professionals of African origin are particularly encouraged to apply.

If you're interested in becoming a mentor please send your CV along with a brief description of your main areas of professional expertise to:-
