Generalist Adviser Volunteers

Our THT Direct Helpline service is looking for volunteers who would like to be trained up as generalist advisers. The training will include mentoring, shadowing and formal training courses. Duties will include providing advice and assistance to clients on entitlements to welfare benefits and housing through face to face appointments, telephone, email and the Internet.

Good IT skills are essential in all Word applications and you’ll need to evidence excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. You’ll have the opportunity to maintain an up to date knowledge of law, policy and practice in the areas of social welfare law by attending training courses, reading relevant publications and reference materials.

Due to the extensive training being provided you'll need to commit to this role for at least 12 months and be able to volunteer for one full day a week.
