HIV Outreach Officers

We are looking to create a new team of volunteers to work on an exciting new community testing project which has just begun. Working across London with our two exisiting outreach officers, you will be responsible for making contact with African and Afro-Caribbean community residents in order to promote HIV testing and good sexual health. Your primary aim will be to increase the uptake of HIV testing with members of at risk communities. You will refer people into the London fastest clinics for testing and also make referrals to other agencies as appropriate.

Ideally you will have a good knowledge of the broad concepts of health and sexual health, but further training will be provided. You will also have excellent communication skills. Working times are flexible as outreach work can be done either during or outside of clinic times but ideally you should be able to commit to 4 hours per week or more.
