We've come to understand over the years that a vital part of improving this country's sexual health is giving young people information about HIV and sexual health.
It's vital to reduce the stigma attached to HIV and to fight ignorance - after all for young people good quality information about sexual health is hard to come across - especially in our society where talking about sex is sometimes a taboo.
There is a worrying lack of knowledge among young people about these issues. We are able to accommodate some school's requests but many have to be turned down. With your help we might be able to reach more young people.
You'd be visiting schools who've invited us to give a timed talk about sexual health to their students, and then answer some of their questions. A teacher would be present throughout.
It helps us to raise our profile among young people, and spreads the message about HIV and good sexual health.
If you’re confident in presenting to groups of young people, have daytime availability during the week and would like to support the Trust’s work in this area then we’d love to hear from you.
We provide full training, updates and supervision. We'll also reimburse you for your out of pocket expenses where possible. We can provide you with references, and it's a wonderful opportunity to develop and update skills and gain new experiences.
