Volunteers play a vital role in everything that we do. From helping to deliver front-line services to helping with admin, everyone who volunteers is valued beyond measure.

Transport volunteer

As a Transport volunteer, you could provide transport to clients to attend their appointment, offering reassurance and comfort to clients who may be anxious or distressed.  You will need to drive safely and confidently and ensure your vehicle is safe and roadworthy.

Skills you need

We need people with good communication skills, who are punctual and reliable.  We need you to deal with the public and to provide excellent “customer service” to clients who may be anxious and distressed. An understanding of, and commitment to, equality of opportunity is essential.  You will also need an understanding of HIV and the issues that relate to the infection, for example the fear and stigma associated with HIV, so you should work appropriately with challenging and sensitive issues.  You should be able to maintain confidentiality an be committed to representing Terrence Higgins Trust in a positive & constructive way.

Desired commitment

A driving volunteer must be able to offer transport once every 4 weeks and be able to attend the quarterly review meetings.
