Help in talking about HIV and using condoms

THT Direct can give advice or direct you to organisations that can help.

Tips on difficulties with using condoms can be found at www.chapsonline.org.uk/condoms. (This information has been written for gay men but will be useful for all.)

Support for African people

You can find useful information on the Black Health Agency website or call the African AIDS helpline (advice in English and African languages) on 0800 0967 500.

Another useful website is www.loveafrica.org.

Support for heterosexuals (African and non-African)

The Positively Women website provides support to women living with HIV by women living with HIV.

THT Direct on 0845 12 21 200 has details of further support organisations for heterosexual men and women.

Support for gay men

In addition to local gay men’s projects, HIV organisations and Terrence Higgins Trust, you can contact PACE which is a gay organisation that offers both one-to-one sessions with a counsellor and groups that deal with how to tell others you have HIV. Check out details at www.pacehealth.org.uk
