A partnership

We're working in partnership with venues to improve the standards in venues where men might have sex. This should make everyone's life safer - whether they're working or playing.

Any venue that's reached these standards is awarded Play Zone Partner status. This means that we're satisfied that they're doing all they can to make your play safer. You should see the logo on their press ads, website and premises.

We're hoping that as more venues get on board with the Code, you'll use it as benchmark when you choose where to play.

This is what they've undertaken to do regarding their customers, their venue, and their staff:-

The customers

• Condoms and lube will be made available at all times.
• Condoms and lube will be accessible near areas like the darkroom.
• Information leaflets on sexual health, clinics, HIV and counselling will be available.
• Information leaflets will be accessible near areas with good lighting.

The venue

• Lighting is appropriate enough so you can read the resources available; find the condoms and lube; so staff can clean properly and so you can see where you are going!
• Cleaning is done properly, with the right equipment so you don’t get messier than you want to!

The staff

• Will be trained in the basics of sexual health, as well as drugs and alcohol, and will be able to show you where the information leaflets are within the venue if you need them.
• Will be able to help you if you need basic information on sexual health or drugs and alcohol.
• Will also be able to give you information on sexual health clinics.

Play your part

If you know of any venue with high standards that you feel should be participating in the Play Zone, then why not play your part and get in touch with us and let us know.

Likewise if you have been to a venue that is already participating in the Play Zone and you were not happy with the standards then let us know and we can do our best to help correct it.
