The Borough of Lambeth is one of the largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) communities within the Metropolitan area, with 16 major venues including pubs, saunas and clubs. It's also the home of some of London’s most popular club nights, particularly in the Vauxhall area.
Research published today by Terrence Higgins Trust shows overwhelming public support for sexual health and HIV to be made a priority for the NHS. It comes at a times when the UK’s sexual health is at an all-time low with the highest ever rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and with waits of up to six weeks for appointments in Genito Urinary (GU) Clinics for sexual health check-ups. The survey also highlighted a startling lack of awareness about sexually transmitted infections among the public, and young people in particular.
The annual Cocktail Club raised a fantastic £23,500 for Terrence Higgins Trust on Wednesday 9th June. Now in its third year, the event was held in private members’ club Adam Street on London’s Strand. .
If you are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning (LGBTQ) or simply open-minded and under 25 you are very welcome to join the ‘Youth’ parade at Gay Pride this year on Saturday 3 July.
