Tee Hee THT’ Charity fundraiser Comedy Night

The ‘Tee Hee THT’ comedy fundraiser at the Komedia, during Brighton Winter Pride week, was a huge success on Monday 7th, raising over £850 for local charity Terrence Higgins Trust South (THT), which provides services for people living with and affected by HIV in Sussex.

Supported by a grant from Pride, the show was hosted by local comic, Eric Page who had the capacity crowd eating from the palm of his hand as he introduced one superb act after another. Acts included: - gay TV host Stephanie Starlet and her monkey, Dodgy Totty, Some Like it Hot, CLAP, Nicky Mitchell, Zoe Lyons, Karen Cockfield, Mathew Todd and Mr. Edd. All acts waived their fees to support THTSouth.

The night was sponsored by Mates, who supplied condoms to a frisky audience fuelled by risqué jokes and lager. Fantastic prizes were donated by local businesses: Planted of St James St, Alive gym, SAKS Hair & Beauty, Theatre Royal, Oasis Sauna, the Cavalaire hotel and Charbonnel et Walker.

Winners were mesmerised by the generosity of the prizes - or was that the hypnotherapist, Martin Smith, who donated a prize of 3 smoking cessation sessions?

Terrence Higgins Trust South extends huge thanks to all those businesses and everyone who made this community event so successful, including: Rebecca, Ricky and Tim, who worked tirelessly to ensure things ran smoothly on the night and renowned photographer Manel Ortega, who braved bubbles and feather boas to capture some amazing pictures of this remarkable evening.

All monies raised went directly to THT South to provide local HIV services.
