Celebrity garden party raises over £12,500 for Terrence Higgins Trust

Michelle Collins, Catherine Tate, Daisy and Jan de Villeneuve, Christine Stephen-Daly, Alice Beer and Faith Brown joined guests at Terrence Higgins Trust's annual garden party at historic Cliveden in Berkshire and raised over £12,500 for people living with and affected by HIV.

The charity's glamorous supporters and their children enjoyed a spectacular summer day in the beautiful surroundings of Cliveden’s house and gardens. While the children took their turn at the egg and spoon race, drank delicious PJ Smoothies and dived into the chocolate fountain, their parents relaxed with champagne, fabulous Grey Goose vodka cocktails and tucked into a lavish afternoon tea.

Cliveden, once home to the irrepressible Nancy Astor, founder of the infamous 'Cliveden Set', is most famous as the location of a meeting between Christine Keeler and John Profumo in July 1961 which sparked the Profumo affair.

Paul Fernandez, a guest at the event said: "This was a real treat, a perfect day in a perfect setting, and a great way to give to charity. The lychee martinis were the icing on the cake."

Debbie Holmes, Director of Fundraising at Terrence Higgins Trust said: "We're delighted to be working with von Essen hotels who hosted this spectacular event, and we're also indebted to the Garden Party organising committee who have done such a lot to make this event a success."
