Nick Partridge, Director of Terrence Higgins Trust said:

“We welcome the Health Committee’s recommendation to make HIV treatment free to all.  It is not only the humanitarian thing to do, but also sensible for public health and cost-effective. It was clear to the Committee that there was no evidence to support restricting treatment, and no evidence for systematic HIV health tourism.

"Unless HIV treatment is provided to all who need it in the UK, helping to suppress their viral load and keeping them in touch with health workers, we will see a higher level of transmission of the virus - and nobody wants that."
