Lisa Power, Head of Policy at Terrence Higgins Trust commented on the Government's chlamydia screening programme in partnership with Boots:

“We welcome wider access to testing for Chlamydia and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Community based clinics really work. Terrence Higgins Trust run STI testing services and they tend to attract people who are reluctant to use traditional GUM services. Chlamydia is a widespread problem which is still going unrecognised and many people don’t realise it can lead to infertility.  Primary Care Trusts must put the forthcoming government sexual health allocation into getting people with STIs identified and treated as early as possible.”
