Will Nutland, Head of Health Promotion at Terrence Higgins Trust said:
"We welcome this move to offer greater contraceptive choice for women, but this must be integrated with other sexual health services. When health professionals are discussing birth control with women, it's important that they also discuss how to prevent sexually transmitted infections.
"Condoms are the most effective protection against HIV and other sexually transmitted infections during sex."
