Future leaders to take on HIV and sexual health in African communities

Terrence Higgins Trust, Sigma Research, NAM (National AIDS Manual) and the African HIV Policy Network, are launching a three-year leadership programme to tackle the growing problem of HIV and sexual ill-health in UK African communities.

Criminal charges for HIV transmission – an acquittal

A gay man being prosecuted for ‘recklessly’ passing on HIV to his partner has been acquitted in Kingston Crown Court today.  All previous criminal prosecutions for this charge have resulted in guilty verdicts.

Maggi Hambling prints sold for Terrence Higgins Trust

Painter and sculptor Maggi Hambling has created two new limited edition prints – ‘George Melly Singing’ and ‘Stephen Fry Musing’ which will raise funds for Terrence Higgins Trust (THT). The prints will be exhibited at the Toni Heath Gallery, Lambs Conduit Passage, London WC1, from August 4 to August 26 2006.

THT comment on the IAG report showing Choosing Health money (£300 million) used to plug the NHS deficit

Commenting on the (Independent Advisory Group on Sexual Health and HIV (IAG) report on Choosing Health money (£300 million) used to plug the NHS deficit, Nick Partridge, Chief Executive of Terrence Higgins Trust said: "Local health services managers are going to have to be extremely innovative if they're going to make the necessary improvements to sexual health services without the help of the Choosing Health money.

Cardiff Young People's Mardi Gras event

Terrence Higgins Trust Cymru, Cardiff's Children and Young People's Partnership (C.Y.P.P.) have joined forces to organise a young people's Mardi Gras event in Cardiff for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and those questioning their sexuality (LGBTQ) who are 25 years old or younger.
