Actress Scarlett Johansson has said she has regular tests for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV.

Genevieve Clark, Director of Communications at Terrence Higgins Trust said "It’s great that a role model like Scarlett has spoken out about having regular STI tests. Sexual health is still one of those taboo subjects, but with infections on the rise it’s time we started talking about it. Prevention is better than cure, especially as some STIs - like HIV - can't be cured. Condoms are still the best way to avoid STIs and unintended pregnancies in the first place. However, if people are worried they may be at risk, they should definitely follow Scarlett’s lead and go and get tested themselves."
