Is your Lifecheck completed?

Have you done your lifecheck yet? If you log on to myhiv.org.uk you can answer a series of questions about your health and living with HIV.

The lifecheck is a great way to gauge where you are in your journey and find out what you need more information about.

When you begin the lifecheck, you will go through 11 questions, for example, which CD4 count is normally used to decide when to begin treatment? What should you aim for your viral load to do?

When you get a question wrong or feel unconfident about something, you will be given some information and advice at the end. We might suggest having an appointment with a Health Trainer or counsellor, depending on your answers.

When you’ve completed your initial lifecheck, you can also go through three others that look at the healthcare system and you, telling people and healthy living. These will help you see if there are any areas of your life you need more support with. For example, are you on any other medication and missing doses of your HIV treatment? Or are there people you want to tell about your HIV, but you feel worried about their reaction.

Taking a lifecheck empowers you to take control of your life with HIV, get a good understanding of the areas linked to it and get more in depth information and advice if you need it.
