Generic name: raltegravir

Brand names: Isentress

Class: Individual integrase inhibitors (INSTIs)

Side-effects:

Common: Headache, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), decreased appetite, abnormal dreams, feeling sad, dizziness, bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, rash, tiredness, spinning sensation, diarrhoea, indigestion, fever, increased fat levels in blood.


Rare: hypersensitivity reaction, liver problems, kidney problems, anaemia, suicidal ideation, herpes infection including shingles, skin infections, swollen glands, diabetes, palpitations, joint pain.

Dosage:

400mg tablet.

Take 400mg twice a day.

Notes:

Take with or without food.
