Generic name: Abacavir

Brand names: Ziagen

Class: NRTIs (Nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors)

Side-effects:

Common: Rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, headache, tiredness, loss of appetite
Rare: Hypersensitivity reaction, lactic acidosis

Dosage:

300mg twice a day or 600mg once a day

Notes:

Take with or without food.
