About us - Health, Wealth & Happiness

HWH logo

Health, Wealth and Happiness is an innovative project that supports the financial, emotional and physical wellbeing of over 50s living with HIV in Brighton and London.

People living with HIV over 50 are at the heart of what we do, with support from many partnership organisations and a project advisory group.

How we work

Working with our volunteers and partner projects, we support and empower older people living with HIV in terms of their finances, emotional wellbeing and physical health. We do this in several ways:

  • Designing and delivering group sessions
  • Employing advice workers who support people with benefits, housing and legal issues as well as discrimination.
  • Providing training sessions to develop skills in areas such as using information technology and social media.
  • Facilitating a mentoring scheme – led mainly by and for people living with HIV who are over 50 – to provide support to enable people to become more independent and resilient to life-changing events.
  • Mentor training and other volunteering opportunities.
  • Running social events for people to meet others and try new things.

We also provide HIV awareness training to anyone working with older people living with HIV.
