How we work

Working with our many volunteers and partner projects, we support and empower older people living with HIV in terms of their finances, emotional wellbeing and physical health. We do this is several ways:

  • designing and delivering groupwork sessions to address issues faced by older people living with HIV
  • employing advice workerswho support people with benefits, housing, discrimination and legal issues
  • providing training sessions to develop skills in areas such as using information technology and social media
  • facilitating a mentoring scheme – led mainly by and for people living with HIV over 50 – to provide three or six months of support to enable people to become more independent and resilient to life-changing events
  • mentor training and other volunteering opportunities
  • developing a social group for people to meet new people and try new things.
