HIV is everybody’s business, says charity, as hundreds more diagnosed on the South East Coast

Ahead of England’s first ever National HIV Testing Week, new figures released today by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show there were 6,378 people living with HIV on the South East Coast in 2011. A quarter of these people were undiagnosed and therefore at risk of serious health problems.

HIV is everybody’s business, says charity, as hundreds more diagnosed in Yorkshire & the Humber

Timed to coincide with England’s first ever National HIV Testing Week, new figures released today by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show there were 5,025 people living with in Yorkshire and the Humber in 2011. A quarter of these people were undiagnosed and therefore at risk of serious health problems.

Terrence Higgins Trust urges gay men to get tested, as HPA releases new HIV figures

Timed to coincide with England’s first ever National HIV Testing Week, new figures released today by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) report that 3,010 gay and bisexual men were diagnosed with HIV in 2011, the highest annual figure since the start of the epidemic.

THT says regular testing can halt the spread of HIV, as HPA releases annual HIV figures

Timed to coincide with England’s first ever National HIV Testing Week, new figures released today by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show there were 96,000 people living with HIV in 2011, a quarter of whom were undiagnosed and unaware they have the infection.

THT calls for London-wide HIV prevention plan, as HPA releases annual HIV figures

Figures released today by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show there were 41,250 people living with HIV in London in 2011. This is almost half (43%) of everyone with HIV in the UK. Figures also show that 18 out of the top 20 English local authorities with highest HIV prevalence are in London.
