Helen Walters is a public health doctor currently working for the Greater London Authority. Previously she was a Director of Public Health in Westminster, sitting on the board of both the PCT and the city council.
In previous roles Helen has worked as a GP, has been responsible for the commissioning of sexual health services and has served as a district councillor. All this gives her a unique understanding of the relationship between, and the current changes in, healthcare, sexual health services and local politics.
Helen’s personal drivers are preventing disease and ensuring that people from all groups can reach the services that they need. She sees these values mirrored in Terrence Higgins Trust's work in preventing HIV and enabling those with HIV to live full and stigma-free lives.
Helen hopes to bring her energy, public health skills and strategic experience to help the charity further this work
