How can your organisation get involved in National HIV Testing Week?
Organisations, clinics and charities
If you’re an organisation, clinic or charity that works with gay men or black Africans, there are lots of ways you can get involved in National HIV Testing Week.
- holding outreach events with most-at-risk communities in clubs, social venues etc
- encouraging local politicians or personalities to visit testing sites and get tested
- running special testing sessions, possibly at community events
- promoting local services to increase the number of people testing (if the service has capacity)
- distributing home sampling kits to most at-risk groups
- running educational events with local primary care clinicians who could be offering testing
- raising awareness with student doctors and nurses of the importance of diagnosing HIV early.
