Other celebrities included EastEnders and The Bill star, Scott Neal, comedian David Morgan, model and actor, James Lee-Taylor, who attended with girlfriend Sophia Tran-Thomson and on-screen wife, Olivia Chenery.

The evening saw frantic bidding and entertainment as dinner with Russell Tovey, along with tickets and a private tour behind the scenes of sold-out play, Angels in America, at the National Theatre, sold for £5,500 – well over guide price of £2,000.

Meanwhile one lucky bidder will soon be enjoying a 17-litre bottle of wine, designed by acclaimed artist Tracey Emin, after bidding £4,200.

Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.

Also still on offer is a VIP experience at The Mighty Hoopla festival in Victoria Park on 4 June with a chance to meet the headline performers, Years & Years, and their front man, Olly Alexander.

Claire McMaster, Director of Fundraising at Terrence Higgins Trust, said:

“Last night’s Auction showed the commitment and dedication of so many people to help ensure that people living with HIV have the support and services they need to live well.

“A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make this year’s Auction another fantastic success. Artists, celebrities and supporters have again given so generously, meaning we can continue our vital work.”
