Commitment and experience

However much time you have to spare, we will have a volunteering role to suit you - get in touch to find out more.

Time commitment

When people volunteer to help us at Terrence Higgins Trust we ask them to give varying amounts of time depending on the role. This might be:

  • Helping out for a couple of hours at fundraising events.
  • Supporting someone for a couple of hours in the evenings or at weekends.
  • Working a couple of days per week on reception.

Whatever time you have to spare and whenever you are available, contact your local centre to see whether there is a role that would suit you.

Previous experience

We give all volunteers training for the role that they have chosen, so it doesn't matter if you do not have any previous experience.

Background

We would like our volunteers to be representative of the group of people who use our services,  so we are particularly keen for people who are living with HIV, gay men and African people to get involved. However, we welcome everyone who wants to help and is willing to work with a range of people.
