Lincolnshire Face Facts
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection that may cause health problems if left untreated. It is easily transmitted and often has no symptoms at all so you may not know you have it.
It is increasingly common, which means you may be at risk even if you haven’t had a lot of sexual partners. If you are between 16 and 24 it is worth getting tested for Chlamydia, just in case.
This free service enables you to easily find out whether you have Chlamydia and to quickly have it treated. You simply use one of our kits to send a sample of your urine to a lab.
The test results are sent to you by text message in a few days and if you do have Chlamydia you can then visit one of our centres for treatment. Chlamydia can usually be treated with one simple course of antibiotics.
• The results of your Chlamydia test will usually be sent to you within seven days. • Treatment will be delivered free. • Treatment may be delivered at one of our screening centres. • We work within National Chlamydia Screening Programme standards.
To ensure that all our clinical services provide you with a high standard of care and treatment and are safe, they are provided within THT's clinical governance framework. This means that our staff are trained to undertake their roles, we have clear policies and procedures in place and work within national guidelines and standards. We regularly monitor our services and welcome feedback from our service users.
