Who this service is for
This free and confidential counselling service is available to anyone affected by HIV who lives in certain London boroughs. You can come for individual counselling or with your partner for couple counselling. Please call 020 7812 1777 for details.
Languages
English, German, Hebrew, Italian, Portuguese, Ndebele, Shona. Please call if you need counselling in another language.

Why you might need this

If you are living with HIV and you need emotional support, we can help. You may have concerns around a wide range of issues, including sex and relationships, discrimination, HIV treatment, drugs, children or family life. We can also help if you have questions around sexuality, regardless of whether you are HIV positive, or if you are unsure about what help you need.

We can help you

This can help you get some perspective on what is going on for you. It can help you to focus on what it is you want, and support you to get there. This service is available to individuals, couples and families and is usually free*.

* There may be a small charge for some services in London.

Our quality commitment

Where relevant, our services meet the following quality standards:

  • British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) - Ethical Principles
  • CORE (Clinical Outcomes for Routine Evaluation): clinical improvement for 65% of clients

Services are provided by counsellors who are qualified and accredited, or working towards accreditation, with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) or The British Psychological Society (BPS) or through the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (IAPT) training scheme. Clinical supervision is provided to all counsellors. We offer appointments within four weeks of the date of referral to the service.
