Why you might need this

If you are HIV positive and you want to have a better understanding of HIV and its impact on your life, we can help.

You may be finding it difficult talking to your doctor, making sense of your diagnosis or managing side effects of your medication. Or you may have questions about sex, relationships, diet or your treatment.

We can help you

It will give you the confidential support and information you need to make changes to help you lead a healthier life. You will feel more confident and more in control of your life with HIV.

For example, you will be better able to have a dialogue with your medical team and other support workers. Health Trainers can see people alone, with their partners or in groups, and this service can be available in the community.

Health Trainers can also help you make decisions to improve your life and health.

Our quality commitment

All Health Trainers undergo an extensive induction and training programme and receive continuing professional development. They are kept fully informed about the range of health and treatment issues facing people with HIV.

Our Health Trainers meet Department of Health competencies as outlined in its handbook and they receive National AIDS Manual (NAM) updates on a monthly basis.
