Why you might need this

If you have concerns around HIV or other sexually transmitted infections, or concerns about sexuality, drugs or alcohol, and you want to meet other people in the same position, one of these groups may help. You may have been recently diagnosed with HIV, for example, or you may be feeling isolated or stigmatised.

Groups are available in different centres at various times for people living with HIV, gay and bisexual men, African and black and minority ethnic communities, young people, women and sex workers. There are also groups for transgendered people and HIV negative partners of people who are HIV positive. Some groups meet a range of the above needs.

We can help you

Groups enable you to share your experience in a safe, non-judgemental environment. They offer support from people who understand your concerns, and can boost your confidence and social life.

Specific groups will increase your knowledge of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and how they are transmitted. They can improve your ability to manage your health and your sex life. Groups can also increase your knowledge of drugs and alcohol and the services available to you.
