Why you might need this

If you want to work within the HIV sector in either a paid or voluntary capacity, or you want to improve your knowledge around HIV, this course can help.

If you are keen to complete a course but unable to attend training on a regular basis, the flexible structure of this self-learning course may be suitable.

We can help you

This course will enable you to obtain a qualification to improve your knowledge around HIV.

It will support you in how best to deliver that information to other people and enable you to confidently challenge any inaccurate statements that are made.

The qualification requires around 60 hours of study, including optional but recommended training days.

Our quality commitment

The qualification is at level 2 of the City and Guilds Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and will be awarded to learners on successful completion of three units:

  • Unit 001 Transmission and Prevention of HIV (3 credits)
  • Unit 002 Stigma and discrimination in HIV and AIDS (3 credits)
  • Unit 003 Managing HIV and AIDS (4 credits)
