Provides basic HIV and AIDS information and prevention resources to African Communities. Involved in local and National HIV/AIDS campaigns and signposts Africans, Asylum/ Refugees and other vulnerable communities to mainstream services. Distributes male and female condoms on one-to-one and outreach to individuals and small African businesses in partnership with NHS Nottingham City on the Awaredresser Project aiming at reducing HIV and STIs in the local communities. Facilitates workshops, focus groups, training sessions and learning opportunities and public events in collaboration with NHS Nottingham City, Nottingham City Council, NAHIP partner agencies, African Health Policy Network (AHPN), the Terrence Higgins Trust(THT) and University of Nottingham Provides chaplain and pastoral care to Africans with spiritual needs to overcome particularly HIV/AIDS challenges. Run group and individual fellowships to manage living with HIV virus and adherence to medication. Carries out African Health surveys and pilots for the Sigma Research part London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine funded by the NAHIP Programme

Access

Services available to those without recourse to public funds: free condoms, sexual health and HIV training, information about HIV testing and its benefits, referrals to services they may be entitled to in the city and county and referral for people in destitution to access basic food and toiletries.

Languages

Interpreter, information, referrals and emotional support available in French, Arabic, Swahili and Lingala.
