Provides care of HIV-positive children and adolescents, follow-up of babies born to HIV-positive women; pre- and post-HIV test counselling; referral to voluntary agencies; same-day results for HIV testing; medical and nursing management of the paediatric patient, including consultant review and nurse specialist support; nursing care for children who are HIV positive in the hospital, community and home; care for family members affected by HIV, including infants of HIV-positive women; public awareness and education, counselling and training: and links with adult hospitals to ensure children of HIV positive parents are tested.
