Stripes is a youth group to all LGBTQ+ young people aged 13-19. Co-run by Wakefield Youth Work Team and Yorkshire MESMAC, we aim to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ young people. It is an organised session where we socialise and plan scheduled events.
We provide information, guidance and support on areas such as sexual health, relationships, keeping safe and anything we feel could benefit the group in their day-to-day life. We can also refer young people to a range of services such as counselling, and one-to-one support is available at all sessions.
We meet every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm-9.00pm in a central Wakefield location.
